This would be a great place to launch a kayak or boat and explore the area. It is connected to the gulf so the water is salty.

The trails in the park were short, with some sections running along roads. They are mostly in forest, but occasionally have views of the bayou. This section of the park has a campground, pavilions, fishing piers and a boat ramp. When planning your trip there check the NPS website for updated conditions.

This is just south of Ocean Springs, MS on the Mississippi sound. There are some islands on the other side of the sound, that are also part of the national seashore. The Florida parts of this seashore include beaches, a island nature preserve and For Pickens which may be in a future post. Currently the Mississippi side does not have entrance fees, but the Florida side does. They accept the America the Beautiful pass.
