This site is photo and video focused combination of hikes, bike rides and other outdoor sports with the occasional visit to a small brewery or winery.
We are also working on offering outdoor sports guiding and coaching.

Mountain Adventures was started as a blog in 2008 on Blog Spot/Blogger. In 2010 Chris started teaching skiing at Eldora and by the end of the season he was teaching snowboarding too. The next summer he went to Alaska for the summer to guide sea kayak trips and 15 person canoe trips for mainly cruise ship tourists. He taught skiing and snowboarding for eight more years and seven summers teaching mountain biking to kids. There were not many blog posts from 2014 to 2020, but a lot of photos and videos were taken.
All the old posts from the Blogger/Blogspot website have been transferred to this site. Except for small fixes, the text and format on them was kept the same.
In 2024 we started posting videos under Mountain Adventures and in 2025 we started the photo essay posts again. This website is combining all the blogs, photography, videos, guiding and teaching that were done in the past into one place.
The adventures include hiking, biking, camping and kayaking with associated stuff like nearby breweries and wineries tossed in. We also include all the National Park System's units plus National Monuments that are run by the USFS (United States Forest Service) or BLM (Bureau of Land Management). That includes National Historic Parks and National Historic Sites because some of us who are interested in the nature side of the national parks, also want to see the other units.
This site is for everyone interested in outdoor sports, especially mountain biking and hiking, and the national park system.
