Ride Types

Bikepacking Group Shot

Social/Casual

These rides are intended to be social rides where everyone can ride at their own pace, but where we usually stop at intervals on the trail to let everyone regroup. We will wait at trail intersections to ensure that everyone goes the right way. These are no-drop rides and we tend to stop and talk at the trail junctions. If you are worried about being to slow for the group, these are good rides for you.

Regular

These rides vary, so make sure you read the description. You will be expected to be able to ride at the level in the description. We may not wait at all trail junctions, but will try to make sure everyone goes the right way. These are mostly no-drop rides.

Exploring

These rides are on trails that are not commonly ridden and limited info will be available. The ride leader probably has not been on the trails. These could involve hike-a-bike sections, turning back due to overgrown trails, awesome views and getting high away from the crowds.

Steel Sharpens Steel

These rides are intended to be hard to improve out fitness and skills. We will go out and encourage each other on tough uphills and talk about tricky features while going downhill. At some of the more interesting tough spots, we may retry it a couple times if we don't get it the first time. These trails may be less popular ones that don't get much maintenance. Having to push your bike uphill or walk a downhill is likely. You should have plenty of water, food, repair tools and a first aid kit.

Skills Session

They will usually be held at a bike park or on particularly technical sections of trails. We may have a casual ride out to the skills area.

Night Rides

Riding in the dark. Usually these start an hour before dark, but finish after it gets dark. Most of these rides are on intermediate trails. You'll want a 1000+ lumens light on your handlebar and another on your helmet.

Bike Packing

Camping where you carry everything on your bike. These will vary in level. Make sure you practice loading everything up and riding before going on your first one.
