SLCMTB is a Utah mountain biking group on Meetup. We're riders at all levels based out of the greater Salt Lake City and Wasatch Back areas. We usually have a few evening and night rides each week along with weekend rides. We also have camping trips to places like Moab, Richfield and Vernal. Our rides are all levels and include casual rides, epic rides (big mileage and climb), skills days at bike parks, shuttled downhill rides, lift-serviced bike park days, bikepacking and night rides. After our rides we usually go out to a restaurant or hangout at the trailhead with drinks and snacks.
Meetup is a website for organizing events that is free to for participants. The only cost is for organizers. You don't have to give them your phone number to sign up or download an app. (They do have an app if you would rather use than.) So you don't have to worry about your privacy as much, just normal caution.
We ask for an optional $5 annual dues to help cover our Meetup site fees and camping/social events. Meetup charges us about $200 every six months. Please help the group by giving the dues to one of the group organizers.
Before signing up for a ride please read the description. We usually put the level of the ride (Novice, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) in the title. Sometimes the ride may have both a technical level and an aerobic level. If you cannot make the ride, please update the RSVP. More info on Ride Levels
This is the traditional PBR (Park City Beginner Ride) that tends to be our weekly social ride. These are relaxed rides where take breaks and talk. The RSVPs will usually open about two weeks before the ride. Starting in 2025 we will have intermediate rides some weeks, since we haven't had many beginners signing up the beginner rides.
We will continue to have rides through the winter. What kind of rides will depend on weather, but we will ride trails that are still dry as well as one with snow cover. We try to avoid riding on trails that get muddy or sloppy, usually when a snow covered area gets warm.
All events are at your own risk. By signing up for a SLCMTB event, you agree to our disclaimer.
