Mountain biking and associated activities are inherently dangerous and often located in inherently dangerous terrain with potential consequences of participating being injury up to and including death. All participants in the group assume responsibility for themselves in the face of these risks, and should not participate in any rides that they could not complete on their own in case of emergency. This includes taking responsibility for finding your own way in case you get lost and/or separated from the group, as well as carrying sufficient food/water for such an eventuality and also not assuming that group members will be able to provide you with assistance.

Even if the event leader is a professional guide or instructor, all rides and events are informal and at your own risk.

In order to ensure an open and active SLCMTB group with eager organizers and event organizers who feel safeguarded against unwarranted legal recourse when posting or leading events, we require that all SLCMTB members participating in events agree to the following terms:

By RSVPing YES to an event, you hereby FULLY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS SLCMTB, its organizers, and event organizers from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever for any loss, damage, injury up to and including death, illness or harm of any kind and nature arising from or related in any way to your activities with SLCMTB, including mountain biking and any related activities.
